629. Wood carving of a women with a large hat and holding a pear. This was made from the mango tree by master carvers from a small Philippine village. These are used as moulds for paper mache products, such as, animals, people etc. The figure is about 50lbs. This was carved around 1930-40. A publication refers to this style of carving as “Art Of The Takaan”. Size: 38in. by 20in. by 12in(94cm by 50cm by 30cm).
