French Diorama

Description

19th century carved wood diorama of a marriage scene being
photographed. In the lower right-hand corner, there is a fallen
guest suggesting he has had too much wine. It is signed at the bottom
right-hand corner ” J. Einold”(?). It is also titled at the bottom
referring to a wedding at Plougastel. Plougastel is a commune town
in Brittany in the northwest part of France. I would assume this
commune to be similar to the Mennonite communities. Exceptionally well carved
and no damage. Size: L.18 3/4in., W. 3 1/2in., H.12in (48cm by 9cm by 30 1/2cm).
