Description
Very highly decorated box from Alsace, France. Early 19th century and
decorated with a profusion of flowers and a vase with tulips. A similar
style can be found at the Strasbourg, Museum Alsace France. About 90 % of the paint
is retained which makes it a more desireable box. Stamp on the bottom shows
that it was bought at Sothebys auction house. I have been fortunate to find
four of these rare boxes. Size: 10 by 7 by 43/4 in. Side mouldings have been
replaced. Note: colour has been slightly enhanced.
