Tobacco Can

Description

Tobacco can, could also be used as a jewelry or documents casket, circa
1820/30. Marked CH with crossed hammers, relief decoration of winged griffons,
torches and plant ornaments, lid knob in the form off a man sitting
on a thin blackened and bronzed cast iron lid. Made at Carlshutte foundry
near Rendsburg, Germany.
Provenance: from a private Swedish collection.
